Just starting out in Brawl Stars – or been playing for a while but unsure which Brawlers to prioritise? This guide shows you the 10 best Brawlers for beginners, explains why they're so well-suited, and how this knowledge also helps in the Brawl Mystery quiz.
Not every Brawler is suitable for newcomers. The best beginner Brawlers share these traits:
It's no accident that Shelly is the first Brawler – she's ideal for beginners. Her shotgun spread hits even without perfect aim, and her Super (shield bash) is simple to activate. Perfect for learning the core mechanics.
Colt is perfect for practising your aim. His bullets travel in a straight line – land your shots and deal solid damage. Over time, playing Colt builds the aiming intuition you'll need across the whole game.
Nita summons a bear with her Super that automatically charges at enemies. This teaches how important positioning and team support are, without requiring complex mechanics to master yourself.
Bull has lots of health and deals enormous damage up close. His simple playstyle (get close and shoot) and high error tolerance make him perfect for newcomers who want to play aggressively.
Brock is the classic long-range fighter. His rockets are slow enough to understand, and his Super clears out entire bushes and walls – teaching you how map control works.
El Primo leaps directly onto enemies with his Super – mastering this teaches how to surprise and overwhelm opponents. With high HP and strong area damage, he's very forgiving of mistakes.
Poco heals his teammates – incredibly valuable in teams and easy to play. As a beginner, Poco teaches you how important team roles are and when healing is worth more than dealing damage.
Jessie deploys a turret with her Super that shoots automatically. This teaches strategic thinking: where do I place my turret? Her shot also ricochets off walls – opening up creative plays.
Pam has lots of HP, deals solid damage with her scrap spray, and her Super (healing station) is gold in team modes. Playing Pam well teaches map control and positioning.
Bo is the perfect beginner controller. His mines (Super) teach zone control, and his 3-arrow attack is easy to land. Very useful across many game modes.
In Classic Mode, beginner Brawlers like Shelly, Colt, Nita and Bull make ideal opening guesses, since they have widely spread attributes. Shelly (Starting) vs. Spike (Legendary) instantly maximises the Rarity narrowing in one move.
In Pixel Mode, you'll recognise these Brawlers fastest since you see their designs most often. In Description Mode you already know their lore – and in Emoji Mode the combinations for well-known Brawlers tend to be more logical.
