Strategy ยท Tips ยท Common Mistakes ยท Example Puzzles ยท Win Faster
The Pixel Mode puts your visual memory to the hardest test: a heavily pixelated image of a Brawler โ and you must figure out who it shows. With each wrong guess the image becomes slightly clearer, but you only have 8 attempts. This guide shows you how to recognize Brawlers from just a few pixels.
How does Pixel Mode work?
You start with an extremely pixelated image of a random Brawler. The image becomes progressively sharper โ but only when you guess wrong. Your goal: identify the Brawler before the image is fully revealed, using as few attempts as possible.
Unlike Classic Mode, there's no attribute table as feedback โ the image is your only clue. That makes Pixel Mode especially challenging.
Strategy: Reading a pixel image
1. Analyze the color palette
Even at maximum pixelation, colors are visible. Every Brawler has a characteristic base color:
- Yellow/Gold: Brock, Tick, Chester, Amber, Piper
- Blue/Teal: Gale, Squeak, Buzz, 8-Bit, Emz
- Green: Spike, Sprout, Leon (partly), Bonnie
- Purple/Dark Violet: Mortis, Tara, Crow, Gene
- Red/Orange: El Primo, Ash, Ruffs, Frank (partly)
- Pink/Rose: Max, Colette, Sandy (partly)
- Brown/Earth tones: Bull, Jacky, Clancy
- White/Bright: Nani, Lou, Surge
2. Check silhouette and shape
As the image clears slightly, you can make out outlines. Pay close attention to:
- Headgear: Top hat (Mr. P), cowboy hat (Emz), cap (Stu, Surge)
- Weapons: Large guns, lassos, fists โ these stand out early
- Body type: Massive tanks (El Primo, Bull) vs. slim figures (Leon, Crow)
- Hair/hairstyle: Leon's distinctive mane, Emz's signature fringe
- Unusual features: Multiple arms? Animal ears? Wings?
3. Background context colors
Official Brawler portraits often have colored backgrounds matching their rarity: orange tones for Legendary, blue tones for Super Rare etc. This can quickly indicate a rarity category.
๐ก Pro Tip: Browse all Brawler portraits in the
Brawler Library before playing. Your visual memory trains fastest through active viewing โ not just playing.
Tips for Pixel Mode
- Take your time on the first image: Try to assess color and rough shape even at maximum pixelation
- Make mental notes: "Yellow, fairly small, weapon on the right" โ this already narrows things down
- Use strategic "test guesses": If you're sure about color but not shape, guess a Brawler with that color โ the image will get clearer
- Know the new Brawlers: Sirius (2026, dark/black-purple) and Najia (2026, sandy/beige with snake details) are the newest additions
- Distinguish similar Brawlers: Nita and Poco look alike โ pay attention to details like hair and clothing
Common mistakes in Pixel Mode
- โ Guessing too early: After the first image you rarely have enough info โ wait for 2โ3 guesses for more clarity
- โ Overestimating color: Some Brawlers have very similar colors (e.g. multiple yellow-orange Brawlers)
- โ Confusing background with character: Focus on the figure itself, not the background
- โ Forgetting new Brawlers: The game is regularly updated โ know the latest additions
- โ No system: When unsure, guess Brawlers from a color group, not randomly
Example puzzle โ Pixel Mode
Imagine the hidden Brawler is Amber (Legendary, fire design, orange/red palette, slim figure with bottle):
- Image Level 1 (max pixels): You see orange-red colors, somewhat slim shape
- First thought: Brock? Chester? Amber? โ All have orange/yellow tones
- Guess 1: Brock (wrong) โ Image clears, you now see the bottle and dress
- Guess 2: Amber โ โ
Correct! Solved in just 2 guesses thanks to color and shape analysis
๐ Goal: Try to solve the Brawler within 3โ4 guesses. The best players recognize roughly 30% of Brawlers from the very first pixelated image.
Training: How to improve fast
- Visit the Brawler Library and consciously study each Brawler for 5 seconds
- Create mental categories: "Which Brawlers are mainly blue? Which ones have hats?"
- Play daily โ after 2 weeks you'll recognize most Brawlers at 50% pixelation
- Focus especially on Brawlers you failed to recognize recently
